Bishop Matthews and Bishop Hassinger call for prayers, help for people of Haiti
 
Both Bishop Marcus Matthews of the New York West Episcopal Area, and Bishop Susan W. Hassinger of the Albany Episcopal Area have called for prayers and help for the people of Haiti in the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit the Caribbean country on Jan. 12.
 
 


New ACT affirms proposed structure for new Annual Conference

The New Area Conference Team (New ACT) has approved a recommendation for the basic structure of the new Annual Conference in the Upper New York Area.

At its Dec. 12 meeting, members of New ACT gave blessing to the structure after a time of prayer and discussion. Members of new ACT had discussed the plan at an earlier meeting, asking Director of Transitional Ministry Deborah O'Connor-Slater, to make some changes relative to that previous discussion.

The proposal will be forwarded to the Uniting Conference for approval. Read more ...

Run River Enterprises will provide interim management of the Camps Conferences and Retreats Ministries (CCRM) of the Upper New York Area beginning Jan. 1.
 
The proposal for a manager over all of the camps until the new Annual Conference has a management plan in place followed a suggestion that one of the current site directors serve quarter time in an over-sight capacity. Current site directors and key staff, endorsed the plan. Read more ...
